Delete your Peak account
Deletion is permanent. Your goals, tasks, journal entries, streak history, coach conversations, friends and progress are removed and cannot be restored — not by you, not by us. If you might come back, read Get a copy first and Alternatives below before you tap.
Delete it in the app
- Open Peak and go to the Insights tab.
- Tap the settings icon (top right).
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
That is the whole process. You do not need to email support, open a ticket, or explain yourself, and there is no retention offer standing between you and the button.
Or ask us by email
If you can't sign in — lost password, lost email access, or the app won't open — write to support@peakapp.org with the subject "Delete my account" and include your username or the email address on the account. We will verify that it is really yours before deleting anything, and confirm when it's done. We respond within 30 days and usually far sooner.
What gets deleted
- Your account, email address and login credentials
- Every goal, task, move and habit
- All journal entries and reflections
- Your entire coach conversation history
- Streaks, XP, levels, coins and unlocked items
- Friend connections, nudges, groups and challenge history
- Progress analytics tied to your account
Deletion happens in our live systems immediately or within a few days, and is completed across backups on the normal rotation — no later than 30 days, with backup media purged within 90.
What we must keep
Two narrow exceptions, both required rather than chosen:
- Purchase and tax records. Transaction records must be retained for accounting and tax purposes (typically seven years). These contain the transaction, not your app content.
- Records needed for a legal obligation, dispute or fraud investigation, and only for as long as that obligation lasts.
Aggregated statistics that can no longer be linked to you — for example "how many people completed onboarding last month" — may remain, because there is nothing left in them to identify.
Cancel your subscription too
Deleting your Peak account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Apple bills you, not us, so only Apple can stop it. Go to iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Peak → Cancel Subscription. Do this before deleting your account, or you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.
For a refund on a charge you've already been billed, use reportaproblem.apple.com — see billing help.
Get a copy first
If you want your data before it goes, email support@peakapp.org from your account address and ask for an export. We'll send a machine-readable file of your account data, free of charge, within 30 days. Ask for the export before you delete — once the account is gone we cannot reconstruct it.
Alternatives to deleting
- Just want quiet? Turn off notifications in the app's settings, or in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Peak. Your data stays where it is.
- Streak stress? A streak shield protects an earned streak on a bad day, and your goal progress is stored in completed tasks — a missed day cannot take it away.
- Don't want to pay any more? Cancel Elite and keep using Peak free. Your data is untouched.
- Want to disappear from friends? Remove friends or change your username in Settings → Profile rather than deleting the account.
- Something's broken or frustrating? Tell us at support@peakapp.org before you go. On a team this small, one email genuinely changes the roadmap.
